Bryan Griffin President & CEO of VISIT FLORIDA

Bryan is from Tampa, Florida, and has a long career in writing, communications, marketing, and advocacy. In addition to leading the communications team for the Executive Office of the Governor, Bryan has also served as a national director for the Maccabee Task Force and has previously owned and managed a real estate company and a craft beverage tap room in Tampa. He is a lawyer, published author, and pilot.


John David, STS President & CEO of Sports ETA

John David is a nationally recognized leader in sports tourism and serves as President & CEO of the Sports Events & Tourism Association (Sports ETA), the only trade association dedicated exclusively to the sports events and tourism industry.

Since taking the helm in 2023, John has led Sports ETA through record growth in membership, engagement, partnerships, and industry influence while helping elevate sports tourism as a key destination and economic development strategy. Today, the industry generates more than $111 billion in direct spending and $274 billion in total economic impact annually across the United States.

Prior to Sports ETA, John spent 25 years with USA BMX, helping transform the organization into the world’s largest BMX sanctioning body while playing a leadership role in the sport’s Olympic growth in the United States. In 2024, he was named one of Northstar Meetings Group’s Most Influential Event Professionals.

John lives in Chandler, Arizona, with his wife, Jennifer, and their three daughters.


Joseph St. Germain, Ph.D. President/Partner at Downs & St. Germain Research

Joseph St. Germain, Ph.D., is President of Downs & St. Germain Research (DSG), a tourism-focused market research firm supporting destinations across the U.S. with visitor tracking, resident sentiment, brand perception, workforce research, and economic impact analysis. Joseph joined the firm in 2007 (then Kerr & Downs Research) and has been involved in every stage of the research process, from study design and data collection to analysis, reporting, and executive-level presentations for DMOs, community leaders, and governing boards.

With formal training in psychology and advanced quantitative methods, Joseph specializes in translating complex survey and behavioral data into clear, decision-ready insights. His work often blends rigorous analytics with practical storytelling, helping clients understand not only “what’s happening,” but why it’s happening and what to do next. He has extensive experience moderating focus groups and stakeholder discussions and is particularly known for making technical findings accessible to non-technical audiences.

Outside of the office, Joseph loves to golf, is a lifelong gamer, and can occasionally be found talking fantasy football. He lives with his wife, Shanna, and their two pets, Jimmer and Kemba.


Chantal Wu Senior Director, Hospitality Market Analytics at CoStar Group

Chantal Wu joined the CoStar Group as Senior Director of Hospitality Market Analytics covering the Southeast U.S. region. Before joining CoStar, Wu was Vice President of Investments and Development at Auro Hotels. Prior to Auro Hotels, Wu worked for Davidson Hospitality Group and IHG. She also spent time as a feasibility consultant with PKF Consulting, now a part of CBRE.

Wu graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the Walter A. Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, and holds a Master of Management in Hospitality from the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University.
